As the holidays are over and we have slowly settled into our workday routine, we thought we’d select some amazing brunch places, where you can go with your family or a group of friends. As with most brunch places, be sure to book in advance so that you can have a relaxed day!
IN THE CITY CENTRE
Amelys (Hôtel Le Royal) – 12 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg: Every Sunday, brunch starts at 12:30pm, with a breakfast corner, eggs, sweet delicacies, hot and cold appetizers, oysters, a selection of tartars, homemade specialties, mature cheeses from the Frères Marchand and dessert. Excluding drinks, this brunch is priced at 62€ per person.
Bazaar – 46 Place Guillaume II, L-1648 Luxembourg: If you are looking for a different kind of brunch, head over to Bazaar that now also offers “breakfast food” such as their mouthwatering “avocado-dwich”, banana bread doughnut, zaatar eggs, pastrami eggspita and salmon challah. Available every day, the dishes are around 10-15€. Need I say more?
Le Châtelet – 2 Boulevard de la Pétrusse, L-2320 Luxembourg: Brunch takes places on Saturday and Sunday between 10am-4pm with different delectable options. Keep an eye on their special art brunch, where food and art supplies are provided, so you can create a brilliant masterpiece!
Come à la Maison – 1 Rue Nicolas van Werveke, L-2725 Luxembourg: The Come à la Maison brunch is served from 11am onwards where sweet treats, charcuterie, cheese, fruit or vegetables, pasta primo and secondo are served. The price is 59€ for adults and 22€ for children over 3 years old, excluding drinks.
Mamashelter – 2 Rue du Fort Niedergruenewald, L-1616 Luxembourg: Every Sunday, Mamashelter offers pastries, fruit, charcuterie as well as a main course and a sweet and savoury buffet (one hot drink and juice included) for the price of 44€ and 19€ for children under 12. Kids animators will also be present from 1:00-3:30pm!
Paname – 50 Rue Sainte Zithe, L-2763 Luxembourg: Paname offers a wide range of Brunch dishes, which you can mix and match. For 15,50€, you can taste their “Forest Eggs”, a crunchy toast drizzled with some fine truffle oil topped with mushrooms, poached egg and sauce hollandaise.
Pop/Up Hertz – 44 Grand-rue, L-1660 Luxembourg: The Sunday brunch here consists of different dishes one can order and assemble. They also serve brunch specials such as the Shakshouka for 16€ (made with paprika, eggs and tomato sauce) and for 19€, the hot camembert on top of grilled bread, accompanied by luscious cranberries!
Rotondes – 3 Place des Rotondes, L‑2448 Luxembourg-Bonnevoie: The Sunday brunch from 10am to 4pm, the Buvette offers both sweet and savoury brunch to be enjoyed with family and friends. The Sunday brunch is 30€ for adults, free for kids under 6 and children between 6 and 15 pay according to their age.
IN THE SOUTH
24 Brunch & Cocktails – 101 Rue de l’Alzette, L-4011 Esch-sur-Alzette: This place is perfect for brunch and cocktails. Their brunch menu consists of nachos, eggs, savoury and sweet pancakes, bagels as well as platters of cheese and charcuterie for 30€. They even have a pancake platter for 35€ and açai bowls for 11€, if you want to go for a lighter meal!
Café Diderich “Um Eck” – 2 Rue Victor Hugo, L-4140 Esch-sur-Alzette: This local bookshop café serves a fresh and healthy brunch every Saturday for 25€. While having brunch with your family or friends, you are can also take a tour in their bookshop, which offers a range of different books, school and stationery supplies. Brunch must be booked before 4pm on Fridays!
Rucolino Cucina Sana – Vino Vero – 15 Rue de Commerce, L-3450 Dudelange: Every Sunday, this vegan restaurant is offering, as of late, a special “Minett Brunch” from 11am-5pm. A platter for one person consists of pastries, scrambled tofu with baked beans, vegan charcuterie as well as coffee and tea for the price of 35€. The platter for two people includes on top of the latter, bagels with 4 different spreads and a homemade burrito for the 70€!
Schräinerei – 115a Rue Émile Mark, L-4620 Differdange: On Sundays from 11:30am to 3:30pm, the Schräinerei offers a delicious buffet consisting of warm as well as cold dishes. From pastry to cheese platters, including vegetarian options, this buffet is 34€ for adults, 17€ for children between 6 and 12 years old and free for kids under 6!
IN OTHER REGIONS
Bestial – 1 Rue Charles Kieffer, L-8389 Grass: Every Sunday, Bestial offers an all-you-can-eat buffet, which is changed weekly. While the charcuterie and meats are from Kirsch, a selection of hot and cold dishes and delicious homemade desserts are carefully prepared by their own pastry chefs. Adults pay 53€, children from 8 to 13 years 23€ and children up to 8 years old pay 12€.
Café Nº12 – 12 Rue St. Antoine, L-9205 Diekirch: This entirely gluten-free café also offers many lactose-free as well as organic products. Along with their delicious stack of pancakes, their weekend brunch (from Saturday to Sunday from 9:30am-2:00pm) also includes a vegan for 14,50€, a vegetarian for 16,50€ and a classic brunch for 21,50€!
Liblingsplaz – 1 Am Hafen, L-5447 Schwebsange: Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 11am-2pm the café offers a delectable brunch buffet. Guests can have warm and cold meals, including dessert as well as a coupe of crémant and a glass orange juice for 35€.
Mercure Luxembourg Kikuoka Golf & Spa – 100 Scheierhaff, L-5412 Canach: If you really want to enjoy your Sunday to the fullest, head over to this hotel, where a traditional brunch of viennoiserie, charcuterie as well as yogurt and scrambled eggs await you from 12:00 to 2:30pm. Brunch is 39€ for adults and 15€ for children up to 12 years. For another 15€, you can access their special M’Spa for two extra hours!
