Ingredients
- 2 tsp Assam or Ceylon black tea (loose)
- 3 whole green cardamom pods
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 piece star anise
- 500 ml milk
- 500 ml water
- honey (to taste)
Instructions
- Brew all the spices in the water until it boils. Simmer on low heat for several minutes (the smell of the spices will be a good indicator).
- Add the milk and tea. Simmer for two minutes. Turn off the heat, cover and wait a few moments.
- Pour into cups with a sieve.
- Add honey to taste.
Tips
Note: You can find chai spice mixtures in the shops (choose the mixtures without sugar, only the spices). In this case, add one teaspoon of the mixture for every 4 cups.
