In partnership with Caritas Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Red Cross, Cocottes will be collecting donations from 1st to 21st March through the symbolic gift of an egg.
Cocottes has put in place a simple system that enables everyone to contribute at their own level to the needs of others through the symbolic gift of an egg. Indeed, donations will be collected starting at 0.25€ (the approximate price of an egg) and will be added to the receipt.
Why an egg? As Stéphanie Jauquet, CEO of Cocottes comments, “We wanted to call for solidarity from everyone, to ask our customers or partners to make this small donation, whatever it may be. We believe in mass effect and offering an egg (symbolic) remains accessible. “ And with this gesture, it is giving a family in need the opportunity to easily cook a dish or to wish a happy Easter to a child. Raw or as an ingredient in a recipe, cooked or uncooked, the egg is also an essential part of our diet and can be kept for up to 4 weeks. It is affordable, easy to prepare and can be cooked in many different ways. Eggs are nutritious, good for your health and are a perfect part of a balanced diet as they are an excellent source of protein.
It is very simple to take part in this action of solidarity. All you have to do is go to one of the Cocottes shops or when you order online to add the donation to your receipt or invoice. The funds collected will be donated to Buttek in the form of a cheque, which will enable them to offer locally produced eggs to the most vulnerable people.
Cocottes is also committed beyond this new action as, since its creation, unsold goods have been redistributed every day to charities. A quest against food waste that its 14 shops are conducting in order to give a new social purpose to food that is not sold.
This charity action takes place over three weeks, from 1st to 21st March.
