The municipality of Mondercange is in the spotlight from 22 August to 21 September. A large cultural district of the municipality created especially for the occasion, the pop-up village “Beim Nëssert” in Bergem, is at the heart of the programme.
The pop-up village, made up of abandoned shipping containers, is an extension of the ‘Beim Nëssert’ cultural centre and is designed to host coordinated indoor and outdoor activities.
For several months, the pop-up village will host various creative markets, events with researchers, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, outdoor activities for young and old.
The aim is not only to entertain, but also to raise awareness and bring visitors together in a dialogue on sustainability issues.
On 3-4 September, there will be a farmers’ market with regional products and workshops. On Saturday, discover a workshop on “Herbal butter”. In this workshop participants will learn how to make their own herb butter, using herbs grown in the community gardens in the municipality.
A music and art festival “M22:Remix Nëssert” will take place on 10 and 11 September, with artists like Aramelo, Léa Bastien, Seed to Tree, Foreigners, Porcapizza, The Disliked, Top Fanfare and DJ Duke.
Finally, designers from all over Europe are invited to present their work at the Designers’ Market from 17 to 18 September.

Other concerts in August and September open the cultural autumn of Esch2022 with Englbrt & Pink Lint, Linq & Between Shelves, Serge Tonnar & Band or the Luxembourg Jazz Voices & Mata Voices, in collaboration with the INECC.
