To celebrate Pride Month, Luxair and Rosa Lëtzebuerg bring colour into the sky, raising awareness and conveying a message of inclusiveness across Europe.
With Pride Month starting on the 1st of June, Luxair surprises once again by unveiling the new special livery of its De Havilland Q400 aircraft, registered LX-LQC, in all the colours of the rainbow. The design was developed in partnership with the Luxembourgish association Rosa Lëtzebuerg, which has been actively fighting for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community since 1996. With the fuselage and cabin interior now bearing the colours of the pride flag, Luxair will spread its message of inclusiveness, throughout the skies and airports of Europe.
The central purpose of Luxair’s existence is to enable communities to meet. Inclusiveness, therefore, is a fundamental value to them, to be protected and promoted. In collaboration with Rosa Lëtzebuerg, Luxair proudly supports the LGBTIQ+ community and aims further convey a clear message, to encourage everyone to openly express their true personality and live their identity freely. Under the motto “Be pride. Be Luxembourg.”, the LX-LQC makes its first flight on June 1st 2021 to Ibiza.
However, the creation of this new livery is merely the most recent and visual aspect of a dedicated partnership that seeks to raise awareness on this subject. Organising seminars to enable its employees to become more aware of potential factors of discrimination and how to actively act against it, Luxair wishes to continue to develop, both internally and externally, a more inclusive and welcoming culture. Additionally, the airline is also launching a new range of products to commemorate the event and invites everyone to proudly display their support for Luxembourg’s Pride Week, which will take place in Esch-sur-Alzette from the 3rd to the 11th July 2021. All profits from these sales will be donated to the Rosa Lëtzebuerg association.
