Why not make homemade gifts this year? It’s the perfect way to give a personal present to your friends and family. We list here several ideas for DIY gifts that will delight your loved ones. Beautiful, useful and above all made with love!
Gourmet Kits
For those with a sweet tooth, why not give them a pre-prepared kit so that they can easily bake sweet treats at home? Before you start preparing, find some glass jars in your cupboards that you no longer use (jam jars, storage jars) or buy some in decoration shops (you will find them at low prices at Maison du Monde or Hema).
For a nice visual, you need to put the ingredients one after the other and pack them well at each stage to make nice layers. Then add a label with instructions and the ingredients to be added on the day of preparation.
Granola
Pour in the oats, then the almonds, pumpkin seeds and finally the dried fruit.
Don’t forget to add the coconut oil and maple syrup to the recipe on the day of cooking. For our granola recipe, go here.
You can also prepare the granola yourself and offer it ready to eat. It will keep for about a month in an airtight box..
Cookies
Start by pouring in the flour that you have already mixed with the yeast and salt, and mix it well. Add the oats, brown sugar, dried cranberries, sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds.
On the recipe’s instructions, specify that the butter, egg and water shall be added on the day of baking.

Chaï tea
How about making a spiced tea blend to warm up your loved ones’ days? There’s nothing like homemade chai tea! This blend of tea and spices of Indian origin contains black tea (loose), cardamom seeds, cinnamon (in sticks), cloves and star anise.
Mix all the ingredients in a glass jar that closes or a tin. On the recipe’s instructions, don’t forget to mention that ginger powder and honey shall be added once the tea has been infused in water and milk.

Cosmetics
Here are some recipes for cosmetics that you can easily make at home to pamper your loved ones.
Aloe vera
To take care of your body, especially in the middle of winter, there is nothing like an aloe vera gel. A perfect gift!

Lips balm
In addition to the ingredients, be sure to buy small iron containers with lids to store the balm. A thoughtful present to keep the lips protected all winter long!
The recipe can be found here.
Deodorant
The list of ingredients seems long but the manufacturing process is ultra-simple. A natural product for everyone to use!
Our recipe is here.
Decoration
Here you will find gift ideas to embellish the interior of your loved ones. To do so, some manual work from your parts are required, but the steps are very easy, and above all you will be very proud to tell your friends or family that you made it yourself!
Terrarium
The perfect gift for your friends who may not have a green thumb but love to have some greenery in their home. Choose a beautiful glass bell or globe that closes (you can find them at Garden Center). Pour clay balls or pebbles into the bottom of the container, followed by moist potting soil. Make a small hole for the green plant. Choose tropical green plants that do not require much maintenance.
Plant in a cup
Recycle a cup that you no longer use, or even a nice tin can. Pour in some soil and plant a green plante, a mini-cactus or aromatic herbs! The result will look great in your home!
Candle
We like the idea of making your own candle in an old vintage cup. Especially since once the candle is used up, the cup can be used again. Run to Maison Margo and choose a beautiful vintage piece.
For the candle, you will need wicks with iron tips, white beeswax flakes (choose an organic wax for a natural candle), water and oil (essential optional).
