The INNSiDE by Meliá Luxembourg hotel has chosen Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg as its partner and thus becomes the first hotel in Luxembourg to equip its employees with Fairtrade certified clothing. An artist’s competition has been launched to personalise them.
INNSiDE by Meliá Luxembourg is committed to regularly promoting local artistic creation. It is in this context that the hotel has joined forces with Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg to launch a competition targeting young creatives seeking to gain visibility at local and international level.
Lovers of design and the Grand Duchy are invited to post their creations on social networks with the hashtag #Rethinkyourclothes. The winner will then have his or her work printed on a limited edition Fairtrade t-shirt for sale in the hotel’s boutique and will enjoy a two-night stay for two people in an INNSiDE by Meliá hotel of his or her choice in Europe. The deadline for entries is 10 October 2021 and the winner will be announced on 14 October 2021.
The winner’s design will also be printed on the uniforms worn by the hotel’s employees. These uniforms are Fairtrade and supplied by Luxembourg-based Maison Lessure, a specialist in workwear for 150 years. The Fairtrade label on these garments guarantees the use of ethical and responsible cotton, from the origin of the materials used to the manufacture of the garments.
“Sustainability is part of the Meliá Group’s values and strategy and we try to implement this approach locally in the more than 40 countries where we operate,” explains Javier Segura, resident manager of INNSiDE by Meliá Luxembourg.
