Luxembourg wins three awards at We’re Smart® Future
At the start of this new school year, René Mathieu and the entire Luxe Taste & Style team are pleased to announce that they proudly represented Luxembourg’s colours by being on the podium to receive the prizes awarded by We’re Smart®.
The We’re Smart® Green Guide, the reference in the culinary world of vegetables, has today rewarded the best restaurants and vegetable companies in the world.
La Distillerie (Château Bourglinster – Luxembourg) of the vegetable chef René Mathieu, already honoured in previous years, was elected Best vegetable restaurant in the world. “René Mathieu is a pioneer of natural cuisine. He tastefully uses the ingredients of the fields and forests surrounding Château Bourglinster. With so much passion and talent in one person that this is rightly the new global “place to be” for creative herbal cuisine”, says Frank Fol.
KACHEN, Luxembourg’s culinary and lifestyle magazine published in three versions, German, French and English, was voted media of the year by We’re Smart®, for its unique international culinary approach, trilingualism and focus on vegetable dishes and chefs, but also for its commitment to nutrition and a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
Finally, another prize was awarded to the national airline LUXAIR for their initiative 80/20, in collaboration with René Mathieu, in which 80% of the dishes are made with plant-based ingredients.
Created by Frank Fol, the famous Vegetables Chef®, the We’re Smart® organisation is the undisputed reference in the world of vegetarian cuisine, recognises the world’s best vegetable restaurants and chefs and rewards companies and individuals who actively contribute to a healthy and ecological world in its annual We’re Smart® Green Guide and via the We’re Smart® Future Awards.
Hundreds of restaurants around the world were visited by the We’re Smart® jury last year. The team judges the restaurants on the proportion of fruit and vegetables on the menus, but also on culinary creativity, ecological footprint and surprising taste combinations. In addition, each year the jury also rewards companies that make an outstanding commitment to healthy and sustainable food and projects.
We’re Smart® thus aims to encourage the evolution of society towards smarter solutions for our bodies, nature and the world.
