A quality charter, illustrated by the “SAFE TO SERVE” label, has been developed by HORESCA. The establishments that adhere to this campaign undertake to respect the recommendations of the National Federation of Hoteliers, Restaurants and Café Owners of Luxembourg. In this way, they guarantee a resumption of activities under the best possible conditions.
The “SAFE TO SERVE” campaign brings a whole series of actions aimed at preserving the health and safety of staff and customers while respecting the reception of clients and friendliness. By adhering to this charter, professionals undertake to respect numerous commitments based on the recommendations of HORESCA, which has published a guide for the reopening of hotels, restaurants and cafés. These recommendations complement and reinforce the legal obligations. Each establishment in the country received the guide in question a few days ago.
The four commitments of the charter
Professionals who sign the membership charter enabling them to obtain the “SAFE TO SERVE” label undertake to respect at least these 4 essential criteria:
- registration of the establishment with the Commissariat au Gouvernement à la qualité, à la fraude et à la sécurité alimentaire (Government Commissioner for Quality, Fraud and Food Safety)
- compliance with good hygiene practices and the principles of HACCP
- compliance with the Government’s “Covid-19” instructions
- the implementation of all the necessary steps to guarantee the maximum possible safety of customers, guests and employees (social distancing, wearing of masks…).
Visual means
The “SAFE TO SERVE” establishments are ready to welcome customers and HORESCA provides them with a number of means to increase their visibility.
First of all, there are several stickers. A large one can be placed on the window or front door. When entering the establishment, the customer immediately notices the blue colour and knows that he or she is in a “SAFE TO SERVE” place. There are also smaller stickers that can be stuck in various places. Members also receive easels that they can place on the restaurant tables, as well as posters. All this is in a kit sent by HORESCA. It also includes a number of masks.
