Stéphanie Jauquet is taking on a new challenge: fries! This new fritkot, “LA BARAQUE”, offers delicious home-made fries in a 5-star version.
You don’t have to be Belgian to open a chip shop, but it can help. On Friday the 30th of July, as a good Belgian addicted to fries, Stéphanie Jauquet (Um Plateau, Tempo & Cocottes) opened a new chip shop concept in the heart of the capital, 15 rue Aldringen. Bringing the “fritkot” culture to Luxembourg!
Called “LA BARAQUE”, this place is going to highlight the potato dipped in white beef fat, with a 5 star touch. The home-made fries are served with revisited classics such as “américain”, tuna mayo, meatballs, vol au vent,… toppings usually unexpected in the tray. For purists, it is also possible to enjoy fries simply accompanied by fresh homemade sauces such as mayonnaise, andalouse, tartar, samurai, etc. All in biodegradable packaging, bags and pouches.
The idea is to present fries in a different way! And this also involves a chic and trendy setting designed by Véronique Witmeur, where you can watch the chef cook and serve your freshly filled punnets with seasonal products, because yes, your fries will be prepared by a chef. “LA BARAQUE” is a chips concept where taste and flavour, know-how and personality are combined, a meeting point between fast food and casual dining.
To be tested without further delay! Open from Monday to Saturday, 11am – 11pm.
