The new artisanal beer is a Belgian-Luxembourgish IGA (Italian Grape Ale): a combination of the exciting regional flavours of Piedmont provided by Domaine Kox and the brewery of La Rulles – accompanied by a chocolate pairing imagined by Jean le Chocolatier.
This year, the collaboration teamed up with the renowned Italian brewery Sagrin, based in Piedmont. To ensure the regional anchoring and “Nomad touch”, the artisanal brewery of La Rulles supplied the yeast and Domain Kox in Remich (GDL) provided the grape must. The 2021 edition is produced with a hybrid fermentation process, which benefits of both traditional beer yeasts and the indigenous yeasts contained in grape must (which is in this case Pinot Noir). The result is a light beer (6,5%), subtly vinous and perfectly attenuated, without pronounced bitterness and a moderately dry palate. Perfect for aperitifs, the beer can also be enjoyed with white meats or hard goat’s cheese.
As is tradition with every edition, the NOMAD comes with an accompanying Chocolate accord, designed by Jean le Chocolatier. The certified ethical and bio chocolate for this occasion originates from Haiti, embodying a sweet and reserved vanilla flavour that opens up as the tasting progresses. To add to the fun, the tablet is topped with a texture of casquera-based (coffee cherry) compote, cooked in a strawberry gin/balsamic vinegar.
The limited 1000 bottles of NOMAD 2021 will be available starting March 2nd and only available at the store of Mi-Orge Mi-Houblon in Weyler and Jean le Chocolatier’s chocolate factory in Habay-la-Neuve.
