On the 21st and 22nd of October 2022, the Mosel region will be under the sign of light, local products, wine and tourism: with the inter-communal event “Mosel – Licht & Flammen”. This is the first time that an event of this scale has been organised in Luxembourg!
For two days in October, the Luxemburgish Moselle will glow in a totally different way thanks to various sound and light animations during the “Mosel – Licht & Flammen” festival. This year, visitors will also have the pleasure of enjoying some “video mapping” projects. Indeed, various buildings, supported by appropriate music, are set to be brilliantly staged to show them in their best light. This spectacular visual reinterpretation offers an entirely new experience for the audience.
Two different programmes
For this event, two programmes have been developed: an “on-board programme” for passengers on the five boats provided by “Entente Touristique de la Moselle”, “Navitours” and “Personenschifffahrt Gebr. Kolb”. and a “land-based programme” for all those who prefer to enjoy the event on land.
On board, you will be able to enjoy a fabulous view of the beauty of this incomparable region and its colourful attractions. And that’s not all: the culinary delights served on board and the festive atmosphere will also contribute to making this cruise an experience for all the senses! And for those who prefer to stay on land, you’ll be able to enjoy an entertaining medley of different events, local markets, a medieval market as well as wine and food stands.
A journey of discovery through the Moselle region
In Remich the miniature golf course will be illuminated as well as the medieval market to create a magical atmosphere together with a laser show. From the promenade, visitors can enjoy a hot air balloon show, which will take off on the German side of the Mosel.
Wormeldange invites you to a very special light show: with the support of live music by Luxemburgish composer and musician Chris Reitz, the facades of the “Caves des Crémants Poll-Fabaire” and the “Domaine Viticole Schumacher” will be lit up with fascinating colours, a show that will be visible from all boats. Wormeldange will also be the scene of the highlight of the festival: an impressive firework.
At the boarding point in Grevenmacher, the historic building of the Caves Bernard-Massard will be used as a screen for Paul Schumacher’s video mapping a.k.a. “Melting Pol”. The history of the city and the rich culture of the wine region will be presented. Musician Marc Clement will provide the soundtrack for this local historical journey.
The musical heart of ‘Mosel – Licht & Flammen’ will be Wasserbillig. Various DJs and bands will offer a wide range of live music. The inflatable children castle will also be available for the little ones to have fun and play with. Find numerous food stalls, a craft market and live fire shows.
