Ingredients
- 500 ml milk
- 6 egg yolks (room temperature)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- Raspberries or redcurrants (for decoration)
Instructions
- Bring the milk to the boil in a saucepan, remove from the heat and set aside.
- Mix the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar, then blend with a hand mixer for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually add the milk, a little at a time, stirring constantly.
- Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over a medium heat until just before boiling, stirring constantly (with a wooden spoon). Remove from the heat before it starts to bubble.
- Allow to cool and serve in small pots topped with the raspberries or redcurrants.
