For its first edition in 2024, the Michelin Guide has unveiled its selection of the most exceptional hotels in France, including 24 3-Clef hotels, 38 2-Clef hotels and 127 1-Clef hotels.
Rewarding the exceptional
The Michelin Guide now includes more than 5,000 hotels around the world, evaluated according to five criteria of excellence: architecture and interior design, quality of service, personality and character, value for money and contribution to the local experience.
This year, the Michelin Guide selection team is inaugurating the first edition of a new distinction: the Michelin Keys, rewarding the establishments in the Guide’s hotel selection that offer the most outstanding stay experiences. The selection in France has been revealed on 8 April by the red Guide.
“The MICHELIN Clef is a clear and reliable indication for travellers. In the same way that the MICHELIN Stars distinguish restaurants at the top of their game, the MICHELIN Clef will reward the most exceptional hotels around the world. This distinction will also recognize the teamwork of committed and passionate hotel professionals,” explains Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides.

Three Keys : an extraordinary stay
Among the 24 hotels, Parisian palaces, such as the Plaza Athénée and the Meurice. But also, the fabulous Domaine de Baumanière in the heart of Les Baux-de-Provence, where you can also discover the three-star cuisine of chef Glenn Viel.
One Key for the Domaine de la Klauss
The Domaine de la Klauss has just been awarded a Michelin star for its gourmet restaurant Le K by chef Benoît Potdevin and receives now One Key Michelin for its luxurious hotel and Spa.
Here’s what the Michelin Guide has to say about it: “The hotel’s rooms and suites occupy a variety of spaces, from the original structure to more contemporary outbuildings, all clad in stone. The more modest rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable, while the suites quickly become exceptional, culminating in the 80 square metre suite at the top of the Domaine tower, with its bedside Jacuzzi and panoramic view over the valley.
The Domaine’s 800 square metre spa offers a wide range of treatments in partnership with the Gemology brand. The natural setting of the establishment allows it to offer a multitude of outdoor activities, including equestrian sports thanks to the estate’s Iberian horses. The cuisine, however, remains at the heart of the experience, whether at Komptoir, the wood-fired bistro, or at K, a more formal gourmet table.”
