The Brasserie Nationale is refreshing its beer selection with the new Battin IPA, a fruity, fresh Indian Pale Ale that is expanding the Bofferding and Battin range just in time for spring. With its unique taste, it clearly stands out from traditional IPAs.
News from the “Brauatelier”
In the ” Brauatelier” (the “brewing studio”) of the Brasserie Nationale, the in-house master brewers are constantly developing new recipes to diversify the range of the country’s largest brewery. The Battin IPA is the latest addition to a remarkable family of specialty beers that have already appeared under the emblem of the beer king Gambrinius. These include popular and established varieties such as Battin Pils, Blanche and Tripel. The IPA now closes an evident gap in the range.
What’s an IPA?
India Pale Ales, or IPAs for short, have their origins in the British brewing tradition and were developed for the long sea voyage to the colonies in India. Their distinctive taste and natural shelf life result from a high hop content. Modern IPAs vary greatly in taste, although bitterness remains a characteristic feature.
Battin’s version of an IPA
In contrast to the many IPAs with a strong emphasis on hops that are common in the craft beer industry, Battin focuses on a more balanced flavor overall. This is achieved through a targeted selection of hop varieties and the technique known as “dry hopping”.
Ultimately, Battin’s IPA is characterized by less pronounced bitter notes and a stronger focus on fruity aromas. It is a beer for those who like to try out new flavors, but for whom refreshment is the most important thing in a beer.
Where can I try it?
The Battin IPA is now available in 4-packs in stores. Brasserie Nationale is offering a promotion for the market launch in April: When buying a 4-pack, customers will receive a second one for free. The beer is also available on tap in various restaurants and bars.
Cheers!
