The iconic festival Francofolies, founded in 1985 with the aim to spread French music in all its various forms, is coming to Luxembourg.
The Francofolies Esch/Alzette will take place from the 11th to the 13th June 2021. After the festival had to be postponed in 2020, the organisers insisted that the festival would take place in 2021. As the festival could not be held under its original circumstances, the line-up was adjusted accordingly. Given that some artists cancelled their appearance, the festival was redesigned with headliners such as Chilla, Yseult, Camélia Jordana, Philippe Katerine, Sébastien Tellier or Herve. Luxembourgish artists are also featured on the programme, such as Chaïld and Nicool.
The festival is also working on its involvement in the Green Events project, launched by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, whose multiple objectives are formidable project guidelines for research into a reasoned impact on the environment and the climate, the integration of sustainable and eco-responsible criteria into the design of events, public awareness… In this context, waste management will be a key issue, as well as the optimisation of transport, sustainable scenography, preservation of the venue site, and much more.
The festival will offer exhibition spaces, showcase associations, start-ups and food trucks, and use furniture and scenographic elements that promote the reuse of recycled and refurbished elements.
A breath of fresh air in these uncertain times. How lovely to be able to enjoy the music culture in Luxembourg again! An event not to be missed. Tickets are available for €25.
