On Saturday, November 23, after a long break, the Croix Rouge Ball took place again at Luxexpo THE BOX. During the traditional charity auction, the approximately 400 guests raised an amount of over €250,000.
After a five-year break due to the pandemic, the 17th Croix Rouge Ball was held on November 25 2023, in Luxembourg. Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, Grande-Duchesse Maria-Theresa, over 400 guests gathered in Luxexpo THE BOX, which under the Motto “Welcome to the Jungle” was transformed into a rainforest. The event attracted a wide range of participants who were engaged in charitable causes. Although the exact amount of money collected will only be announced during the check presentation to the Luxembourg Red Cross in early 2024, it is already clear that the sum exceeds 250,000 euros.
The exclusive ball aimed to generate donations for the Red Cross. This year, 51 companies, local businesses, artists, and individuals participated by providing high-quality lots for a charity auction. The ball was organized by a volunteer committee, supported by numerous partners and sponsors. The evening was hosted by Gabriel Boisanté and accompanied by auctioneer Maître Stéphane Aubert.
The proceeds of the ball, which come from both ticket sales and the auction, will be used to support the international emergency fund of the Luxembourg Red Cross. This fund enables the organization to respond quickly and efficiently to disasters and emergencies. In addition, the “Service Vacances” is supported, which enables financially disadvantaged children to attend holiday camps, trains caregivers, and promotes social volunteer work.
