On 25 March 2024, at the General Meeting of the Fédération Nationale des Hôteliers, Restaurateurs et Cafetiers du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, Steve Martellini has been officially appointed Secretary General of HORESCA, in charge of day-to-day operations.
François Koepp to step down at the end of 2024
After more than 45 years’ experience in the HoReCa sector, more than 33 years with HORESCA, and 15 years at the head of the Fédération Nationale des Hôteliers, Restaurateurs et Cafetiers, François Koepp is stepping down from his position, although he will remain Director during a transitional phase, before embarking on new family challenges.
Steve Martellini appointed General Secretary
Steve Martellini, former Vice-President of HORESCA, succeeds François Koepp as Secretary General of the trade association. Since 2016, he has been a member of the HORESCA Board of Directors, taking over as Vice-Chair four years later. At the same time, he has become a trainer in the House of Training for all topics relating to HoReCa.
Horesca Chairman Alain Rix is delighted with this appointment. “For several years now, Steve Martellini has been working alongside us at HORESCA to defend the interests of our industry. In addition to the fact that he himself manages two establishments (the ‘Restaurant Beim Bertchen’ in Walhausen and the ‘Restaurant-Brasserie Koeppe Jemp’ in Hoscheid-Dickt – editor’s note) and therefore has a concrete and practical knowledge of our professional world and its challenges, he has an excellent grasp of the workings of our association, while maintaining excellent relations with his colleagues and with the private and public bodies concerned. At a time when hotels, restaurants and cafés are facing a host of problems – a shortage of unqualified staff, extremely complex legislation, etc. – I am convinced that the appointment of Steve Martellini to this position of responsibility is a real asset, both for our association and for all its members and our professional sector. In any case, I wish him every success in the task ahead.”
This change in HORESCA’s governance comes at a time when the sector is facing many new challenges. As part of a continuum, these changes will enable the Federation to strengthen its strategic position and consolidate its position in Luxembourg.
