A five-year agreement was signed between the École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme de Luxembourg and the Maison du Grand-Duc offering students the opportunity to participate in various official events at the Grand Ducal Court.
On the 12th of January 2022, the École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme de Luxembourg (EHTL) and the Maison du Grand-Duc (Grand Duke’s House) signed a partnership agreement allowing EHTL students to participate, as part of their training, in various official events at the Grand Ducal Court. This agreement covers five years.
“The EHTL is very proud to be able to cooperate with the Maison du Grand-Duc”, explains Michel Lanners, the director of the EHTL. “The specific requirements of the Maison du Grand-Duc are to some extent in line with the school’s ambition to develop a culture of excellence among its students through numerous and varied educational activities based on the art of the table, gastronomic catering and hospitality skills.”
The events in which the EHTL students will participate include institutional dinners and gala dinners during state visits, New Year’s receptions and garden parties. In October 2012, the students from the Diekirch school already officiated at the royal wedding of Crown Grand Duke William and Crown Grand Duchess Stephanie, which was an unforgettable experience for them. Being in the field and taking part in renowned events is indeed a great source of motivation for future hospitality professionals: Expogast, presentation of the Gault&Millau guide, Expo Dubai 2020 are some of these exceptional training activities.
“The House of the Grand Duke is delighted to continue its collaboration with the EHTL”, comments Yves Arend, Marshal of the Court. “We are happy to participate, through these work placements, in the training of students in a sector, tourism and gastronomy, which is so important for the Luxembourgish economy.”
