The LiteraTour is the annual literary festival held in Bettembourg, with the 11th edition scheduled for the 23rd of April. This year’s focus will be on gastronomy, with a variety of events and activities. The festival will also feature renowned authors, a book fair, and a literary prize for young writers from Lithuania and partner communities.
The LiteraTour 2023, now in its 11th edition, promises to be a joyous celebration of books, culture, and gastronomy. Last year’s edition was focused on the cultural year 2022, and this year, the festival will continue in the same vein. The festival kicks off on April 23rd in the castle park with “D’Fest vum Buch” (a book fair) which is this year dedicated to gastronomy.
Indeed, Sunday at 2 pm at the Castle of Bettembourg, “Trio Culinaire”, the culinary book that Luxe Taste & Style (publisher of KACHEN & REESEN) had the pleasure to create for the commune of Bettembourg and its partner cities, Flaibano (Italy) and Valpaços (Portugal), will be presented.
This book takes you through the traditional and local cuisine of the three regions and offers an insight into their respective gastronomy and culture. Each chapter allows you to discover the stories, surroundings, local products, and recipes of passionate local chefs, all illustrated with beautiful photos.

The festival will also host young authors from Lithuania and other partner municipalities for the European literary prize for Youth, which was introduced last year. In addition, the festival will feature renowned authors, including journalist and novelist Pierre Assouline, whom attendees can meet and interact with.
One of the highlights of “D’Fest vum Buch” will be the “Liesunge fir Grouss a Kleng” (reading for young and old) sessions presented by the Luxembourg book editors. The sessions will feature several authors, including Stephanie Heuertz, Sylvie Collignon-Mathieu, Claudine Furlano, Zheni Petrela, Roland Meyer, Marc Weydert, Jackie Messerich, Claire Schmartz, Anja Di Bartolomeo, Kerstin Medinger, and Maria Grazia Galati, who will share their literary works with the audience.
Denis Scheck will also be in attendance, presenting his book “Schecks kulinarischer Kompass” (Scheck’s Culinary Compass) to all the foodies. The book is a must-read for those who want to indulge their love for food and life.
The icing on the cake is that entry is free.
