The 5th edition of the Culinary Innovators Awards, with the special theme “Art Meets Food”, took place on Monday, May 16th in Antwerp (Belgium) at the Verbeke Foundation.
An evening of gala and gastronomy
As every year, this event brings together chefs and other professionals from the gastronomy sector, offering innovative concepts. Gault&Millau and its partners want to contribute to an innovative, ambitious and healthy culinary sector through this platform.
Any person, company or institution that can present an innovative vision, concept, service or product that offers real added value to the culinary world can be nominated as ‘Culinary Innovator of the Year’. Everyone is free to participate: chefs, academics, manufacturers, producers, digital geniuses, designers…
Different categories of innovation are honored in which innovative ingredients, dishes, beverages and preparations are rewarded, but also particular settings and concepts or the most cutting-edge products and ideas. The most innovative marketing approach and developments in the field of sustainable development are also honored.
For this 5th edition, three chefs from Luxembourg were able to show their talented cuisine: Cyril Molard of ma Langue Sourit, René Mathieu of La Distillerie, and Ryodo Kajiwara of Ryôdô, all three elected Chef of the Year, respectively in 2020, 2021 and 2022 by Gault & Millau Luxembourg) took part to this event and cooked delicious and innovatives dishes for the lucky attendees. René Mathieu proposed a “trick tree and sweet potato ketchup”, Cyril Molard “an organic carrot, Luxembourgish pulled pork, condiment salad and cumin” and Ryodo Kajiwara a “wild mustard rice tile, Luxembourgish trout marinated in miso”. Divine!
