After a successful first pop-up in Differdange, Celine In The Kitchen is now opening a new coffee shop in Esch, with a focus on homemade products.
You may know Céline In The Kitchen from her colourful cakes on Instagram or from her previous pop-up in Differdange. Now the young entrepreneur is taking on a new challenge: opening a coffee shop.
A matter of passion
The story begins during the Covid period. At the time, Céline was working in finance, a long way from the kitchen, even though it was a familiar world to her as the daughter of chefs. Actually, she has been in and out of the kitchen since she was very young! Active on Instagram, she started sharing her passion for cooking through her recipes, creating a community that has grown steadily over the years. One day, during lockdown, she received a request for a personalised cake. She accepted, and the adventure began. Word of mouth worked wonders, and the requests poured in. At the same time, she launched boxes of cakes, each more original than the last, at the rate of one box per month. The success was immediate, and each new box sold out within minutes.

Backed by this experience, the entrepreneur set her sights on opening an establishment, or at the very least, a production and collection point for her numerous orders. 2022 marked a turning point in her career. She left her job in finance to devote herself entirely to her business. She soon opened her first pop-up shop in Differdange, mainly for takeaway orders of her signature cakes. It was also in these premises that she organised her first brunches once a month. Céline’s community showed up in force, and this first venture was a resounding success. With aspirations growing, she began her quest for a permanent space.
A trendy coffee shop
In September 2023, Céline opened her first coffee shop in Esch-sur-Alzette, at 28 rue Dicks. A large, bright front, Parisian-style tables, a wooden counter, an open kitchen, a large chest of drawers, stylish decorative objects and a display overflowing with delicious cakes: welcome to Céline In The Kitchen. The objective was clear: “I want people to feel at home like they’re in their own living room”. A cosy, uncluttered decor bursting with charm.

The menu features coffee from Biz Coffee Roasters and, of course, colourful homemade cakes with an artistic touch that change daily, as well as daily specials such as bowls and salads. Céline also reveals her desire to “offer more savoury dishes to give my customers the most complete experience possible”. Brunch menus are also being developed and should be announced in the coming weeks.
Céline is also continuing with her monthly and themed boxes, which will now be available for pick-up in Esch. But don’t wait too long, because her boxes, just like her cakes in the display in Esch, quickly run out of stock. “I’m really lucky, I have very loyal customers who follow me on all my adventures”, says the entrepreneur.
The coffee shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 7.30 am to 9.30 am, 11.30 am to 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. These unusual opening times mean that she can still bake during these short periods when the shop is closed. “It’s working really well so far,” she says.

It’s worth noting that Céline is on all fronts: in the kitchen, at the counter, serving, communicating, handling orders… In short, hats off to her!
