A true landmark in Luxembourg City, Konrad Café has just opened in Bonnevoie. With its atypical vintage decor, extensive food menu and unique atmosphere, this new venue has everything you could wish for!
It’s at 20 rue du Verger in Bonnevoie that the second location of the renowned Konrad Café opened its doors in mid-July 2023. One thing’s for sure: the Konrad DNA is ever-present in this new establishment, which is sure to please local residents and visitors alike.
So, should it be considered as a Konrad number 2? “Well, yes and no, it’s more of a twist,” confides Ejup Abdili, the co-owner of the premises. Indeed, in terms of decoration and atmosphere, it’s very similar to the one in the city centre, but the strength of Bonnevoie is that the place has a real kitchen which, thanks to their chef, allows them to offer a more elaborate and extensive menu, ranging from brunch options to homemade cakes and platters to share with friends during the aperitif.
A unique atmosphere
The vibe here is resolutely vintage, a little atypical yet also ethnic, as the owner tells us: “I draw inspiration from my many travels and bring back dishes and design ideas”. The vast majority of the furniture is either second-hand or upcycled, giving the place a real identity. A large second-hand bar is also located in the centre of the space, adding to its convivial character, typical of Konrad.
The walls, which have been left in their original state, are covered with antique frames brightened up by the large bay windows of the café. “We forgot to call back the worker who was in charge of the tapestry” laughs the owner.
Finally, the place has a beautiful, large corner terrace, which will soon be refurbished to accommodate additional tables and recreate the warm atmosphere that reigns inside, but also to ensure that it can continue to be used during winter.

A foodie landmark
As mentioned above, the café offers a varied menu with a wide range of inspirations, from the Middle East to Italy, as well as the brunch classics. Ejup explains: “We want to give free rein to our creativity and imagination in the cuisine we offer. Therefore, we don’t want to limit ourselves to just one type of cuisine, but offer a bit of the best of each, while still being innovative.”
Here you can come for a good Italian coffee or fresh juice in the morning, treat yourself to brunch, enjoy a dish of the day at lunchtime, have an aperitif over a cocktail and a pinsas, and let yourself be carried away by the setting sun until one o’clock in the morning, and this, 7 days a week. There’s something for everyone.
We’re sure you’ve been wondering all this time if their famous carrot cake is also available in Bonnevoie? The answer is YES! And that’s not all: every day, a whole range of homemade cakes are on offer, to eat in or to take away.

A place where people meet
Just as important for its owner is bringing people together. Indeed, the aim of this place is to give back to the neighbourhood that is home to the café, both through what it has to offer and through upcoming events. For him, it’s important to create a venue where neighbours can meet, create a community and encourage sharing. The owner confides: “You see here, the tables are deliberately close to each other, we want people to meet, create memories and exchange with each other.”
The atmosphere is resolutely welcoming, chill and open to all. “We want everyone at Konrad to have a good time, whether with family, friends or after work. Luxembourg is a multicultural country, and we want to embrace this multiculturalism and reflect it in our establishment,” emphasises Ejup.
Konrad is undoubtedly a great new addition to the Bonnevoie district and promises to be a great meeting point for all.
