The traditional grape and wine festival in Grevenmacher invites you from the 10th to the 12th of September to celebrate Luxembourg’s wine region and the coronation of this year’s wine queen.
This year, the “Drauwen- a Wäifest” in Grevenmacher is back for its 71st edition and remains an integral date in Luxembourg’s cultural calendar. The crowning of the 2021 Wine Queen of Luxembourg, Lee Risch, traditionally also heralds the onset of the autumn season on the Moselle. More than just a celebration, this tradition is a sentiment, a spirit that embodies a bond with the Moselle region as well as support for the entire region and its wine culture.
Under normal circumstances, the Luxembourg Wine Queen makes over 70 appearances at home and abroad, thus fulfilling an important promotional function for the wine and tourism industry in the Moselle region and beyond. Far beyond the country’s borders, the brand “Luxembourg Wine Queen” is appreciated and respected. With this important function, the representative plays a central role in wine marketing and is thus an economic factor for wine as a cultural asset and for the vintners in Luxembourg.
In order to keep this important tradition alive and to proclaim the new Wine Queen, the Comité des Fêtes Grevenmacher has worked out a concept for a small festival with concerts in cooperation with the local associations. The festival will take place from 10-12 September in Grevenmacher. Tickets for this special festival are available online at luxembourgticket.lu.
