From 3 to 6 May, the first “Green Festival” will take place at Infinity Shopping Kirchberg. These dates were not chosen randomly, as the first week of May is every year the occasion to see more than 300 sheep parade through the Kirchberg district, on their way to their pastures for the rest of the year. During this itinerant grazing, the sheep take over the green spaces of Kirchberg, having a positive effect on biodiversity.
“This unique and unusual event is an opportunity for Infinity Shopping to launch the Green Festival week“, explained Philippe Prégnon (Cushman & Wakefield), manager of the Infinity Centre.
ONE THEME: THE ENVIRONMENT
Those four days will be the occasion to raise awareness on the theme of environmental protection through animations. Artists from various backgrounds will exhibit some of their works, all related to the environment and nature. These include Sophia Rein, David Soner, Jacques Schneider, Aïcha’s Art, Ceb C’est Bien, Love Birds Color, and many others. The artist Ceb C’est Bien will personalize a pair of trainers which will then be auctioned online. The funds raised will be entirely donated to the Pickitup Luxembourg association, which organises educational and fun waste collection activities.
To raise awareness of this issue among young people, a drawing competition, “Draw me a sheep”, inspired by Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince, will be open to children aged 6 and over. 40 tickets to the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg can be won! Drawing sheets can be picked up from anyone of the shopkeepers.
