After celebrating its 50th anniversary last year, Chez Toni is embarking on a new adventure: opening its own traditional “pastificio”.
Chez Toni, the well-known Italian restaurant in Schifflange established over 50 years ago, has always been committed to keeping alive the traditions and know-how of Italian cuisine by offering fresh pasta. In fact, almost all the pasta served in the restaurant is fresh and made according to family recipes. After a first experience of pasta creation with “Nuddelfabrik”, the Ceccacci family decided in 2023 to refocus on its values and know-how by launching a “pastificio” in Schifflange.
But what exactly is a “pastificio“? It’s a shop and workshop where pasta is made, in this case, fresh pasta and ready-made dishes starring Christina Ceccacci’s traditional and original recipes. The idea behind this new venture is for the family to “be able to offer our own products for direct sale, but also to supply our restaurant”, explains Deborah Ceccacci, Communications Manager. In fact, the shop has a production workshop that enables them to make their own fresh pasta on the premises, guaranteeing maximum freshness.

In the display, you’ll find Luxembourgish meat cappelletti, spinach ricotta ravioli, gnocchi, seasonal creations such as pumpkin ravioli, as well as homemade dishes like lasagna de la Nonna and ham and cream ravioli. The shop also serves as a delicatessen, offering homemade sauces, dry pasta, olive oils, wines and more. It’s enough to make a fine feast! And all these products have pasta in common, reflecting the company’s philosophy that the products on sale come directly from Italy, but from small family-run businesses. Short supply chains are also encouraged by using local producers like Le Moulin for the flour, for example.
As you can guess, the family aspect is paramount, and Deborah tells us that “this pastificio is above all a project that was dear to the heart of our father, who had always wanted to open this kind of outlet“. Their Nonna has also been given pride of place in the logo, as a sketch of her silhouette has been used. Finally, it’s also a way of perpetuating their traditional and original family recipes, used in the making of fresh pasta.

The shop is open Mondays from 2pm to 6pm, Tuesdays to Fridays from 10am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 12pm at 3 Rue Caspard-Mathias Spoo, 3876 Schifflange.
