48-hour film challenge – Call for Participants
The third edition of Filmreakter’s LOST WEEKEND is coming in March to Luxembourg. To make this weekend a success, the organizers call filmmakers of all ages and levels – absolute beginners to distinguished masters of the trade – to write, shoot, edit and deliver a film in no more than 48 hours! This project is a Filmreakter asbl collaboration with Luxembourg City Film Festival 2022.
“We promise you a rollercoaster ride of despair, exhaustion and ecstasy as you will sprint from start to finish at the exhilarating speed of 24 frames a second!”
All you need to know : How, when, where?
The first step is to register your team on the website www.lostweekend.lu on January 29th, 6 AM.
Everyone is welcome and participation is free, but be quick as capacities are limited!
Once you’ve reserved your spot you have until March to assemble your team, from among your own network of friends or with the help of our online forum. In the months leading up to the event get-togethers will be scheduled to meet others to grow your team, receive tips, tricks and valuable advice.
On Friday March 4th, 7 pm, the participants will meet at the Circle Cité in Luxembourg City, where at 8 pm sharp the organizers will announce this year’s THEME, LINE OF DIALOGUE and PROP, which all must feature in the film. Then each team will draw a GENRE out of a hat – and off you go to write, shoot, edit!
At the end of 48 hours later (no more, no less!), a 5 minute-film will need to be delivered.
Public Screening & Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday March 9th, 9 pm, all teams meet again for a public screening (with internet live stream) at Ciné Utopia, where all qualified films will be up for one of several awards. Among them the coveted LOST WEEKEND COFFEE POT, awarded by our distinguished five headed Jury.
Ready to scream “Action!” ?
