After more than 80 days, Julia and Mauro Colagreco reopen the doors of their restaurant, the Mirazur 3* in the Michelin Guide, located in Menton and elected best restaurant in the world in 2019 by The World’s 50th Best.
A special moment for the Mirazur family who, during these difficult times, wished to reinvent themselves, to innovate, to make their guests discover a new chapter.
« The confinement has been a real period of introspection and questioning after a year 2019 full of emotions, titles and awards, » say Julia and Mauro Colagreco.
Julia and Mauro, driven by the quest for new experiences and new challenges, started concentrating on their vegetable gardens, this time by integrating into the heart of the Mirazur’s kitchen focusing on the lunar calendar.
The bet seemed crazy, but as they researched and learned about the variations of the lunar calendar, a new Mirazur was taking shape: creative & free cuisine set to the rhythm of the stars – a unique and exclusive experience: a revolution for a 3* restaurant in the Michelin Guide.
« Today more than ever, we want to be closer to nature. This approach seemed obvious to us since it is time to bring change. We could not imagine welcoming our customers in the same restaurant that we had to leave three months earlier. It is an ambitious project because we are committed to a cuisine that is both local and constantly evolving… A « CosmoCuisine » that brings us as close as possible to the forces of nature. « Julia and the Chef comment.
From the moon to the plate:
In this new era of the Mirazur, punctuated by the continuous movement of nature, cosmic influences and interactions on all living things, the team has developed a cuisine in four variations, resulting from this silent vital flow. Depending on the day of their arrival at the restaurant, customers will be immersed in one of the 4 experiences: Root Mirazur Universe, Leaf Mirazur Universe, Flower Mirazur Universe, Fruit Mirazur Universe.
Guests will discover pure, colourful and fresh plates that are the expression of Mauro Colagreco’s cuisine: very vegetal and highlighting the magnificent products of his region.
