Every four years, EXPOGAST is launched in Luxembourg where the finest gastronomy and hospitality houses strive for the best prize. This year, this international culinary competition returns to Luxembourg from the 26th to the 30th of November.
This year marks the 50th anniversary since its first edition back in 1972. With over 45.000 visitors in 2018, EXPOGAST has an established reputation. The even takes place at LuxExpo, in Kirchberg during 7 days, with five days open to the public for the exhibition part (from 26 to 30 November) and two days dedicated to the official ceremonies.
The exhibition will be supported by Villeroy & Boch under the title of the exclusive partner of Culinary World Cup 2022 and organised by Vatel Luxembourg. 15 national groups will compete for National Culinary Teams, 15 national junior groups will challenge each other for the title of Junior National Teams and 15 teams will perform for the Community Catering title. The competition shall start on the 2th November with the national culinary team of Sweden, Iceland and Scotland and the junior national teams of Denmark, Australia and Belgium.
The five-day long competition will not only feature new trends, the latest creations and innovations for the sophisticated palates, but also the likes of drinks, nutrition as well as domestic appliances. The public can also actively participate – watch the fierce competition between the finest chefs before stepping into the ‘Restaurant des Nations’ – the largest gastronomic restaurant in the world. As the pandemic has strongly affected the HORECA sector, the exhibition aims to re-engage with people through conferences, recruitment initiatives, exhibitions, culinary performances and product demos, all supported by the culinary school EHTL (Diekirch) and the agency brain&more. Great installations are also to be expected at the hall ‘la Provençale’, who have come up with a whole different concept for this year.
