The beaujolais nouveau has arrived!

Every 3rd Thursday in November, the Beaujolais Nouveau arrives on our tables. Banana? Raspberry? KACHEN tells you where to taste it in Luxembourg.

In French, it’s called “le beaujo”, “le beaujol'”, or even “le beaujolpif” for slang enthusiasts… This Thursday 16 November 2023 sees the most popular event in the world of wine: after champagne, “beaujolais nouveau” remains the best-known appellation in the world! From Japan to the United States, this jewel of France’s heritage is successfully exported every year.

Where to drink it?

Expatriates and lovers of French traditions be reassured: even if Beaujolais Nouveau has never really been a hit in Luxembourg, there are a few places where lovers of customs and folklore can discover bottles of this 100% gamay primeur.

Beaujolais Nouveau evenings:

• At Gudde Wëllen

The Gudde Wëllen is the place to be for a late-night party to celebrate the beaujo! In partnership with Wengler, enjoy winegrower Guy Breton’s primeur wine over an ad hoc buffet, to the music of Kuston Beater! Starting at 5 pm.

• At Amore

Would you like a drink while you’re at it? Don’t hesitate to stop off at Amore. Because love isn’t just Italian, it’s also French, and this trendy town-centre address serves up beaujolais nouveau, cheese and charcuterie! Even if it’s Italian, don’t be picky, embrace the good news!

• At La Réserve

It’s a tradition here every year: Beaujolais is celebrated on the 3rd Thursday in November! There’s at least two references of Beaujolais Nouveau and a well-stocked menu of other Beaujolais wines (Brouilly, Morgon, etc.), including the latest arrival, Lancié. And of course, charcuterie, cheese and tapas boards, and bread specially baked by “Au pain de Mary”, with Beaujolais and rosette. From 5pm.

• At Vinoteca

Here too, Beaujolais Nouveau will be on show on Thursday 16 November. New Beaujolais, yes, but also a fine selection of ‘standard’ Beaujolais. In all, around twenty different varieties to enjoy with friends, and a charcuterie board. From 5.30pm.

They have decided to have a special ‘Beaujolais’ evening, but did not want to invite the newcomer to their table. But there will still be some fine wines to enjoy:
