La Liste has unveiled the list of the 1000 best restaurants in the world. For the 5th consecutive year, Guy Savoy’s restaurant in Paris has been crowned best restaurant.
Many French chefs received an award, including Arnaud Donckele, Alain Passard and Gilles Goujon.
The Scandinavian countries are also highlighted in this ranking, as is Japan, which is the country with the most restaurants in this TOP 1000 with 143 addresses.
The List is the world’s leading gastronomic selection for international travellers, compiling the ratings of 970 gastronomic guides and publications. The reliability of the guides is assessed by a survey of thousands of chefs. In addition to the Top 1000 exceptional restaurants, coup de coeur from around the world are listed.
This year, special prizes were also awarded to the chefs with different themes: Digital Innovation Prize, New Talent of the Year, Innovation Prize, Ethical and Environmental Responsibility Prize, Authenticity and Craftsmanship Prize, New Gastronomic Destination or Opening of the Year.
For the New Gastronomic Destination Award, Eastern Europe is honoured at international level. The city of Marseille received this award at the local level, with two ambassadors, the chef Laëtitia Visse (La Femme du Boucher) and Alexandre Mazzia (AM by Alexandre Mazzia).
The innovation prize, at the international level, was awarded to The Ark restaurant in Copenhagen.
The solidarity prize was awarded to the restaurant Universo Santi in Cadiz (Spain)
The Ethical and Environmental Responsibility Award was presented to Chef Rodolfo Guzman of Borag Restaurant in Chile.
